Sareena Karim developed a new 3D printing biomaterials activity for first-year RARE students in collaboration with Ben Metz (Bioengineering undergrad and 3D printing extraordinaire at Wilbur Powerhouse), Kelly Seims, Paula Camacho, and Lesley Chow. RARE students learned about biomaterials and teamed up to research, design, and print scaffolds for tissue engineering. Each team presented their design criteria based on their specific tissue of interest. We had a lot of fun and learned new things about different tissues! Thank you to Professors Vassie Ware and Neal Simon for fitting us in the busy orientation schedule so we could launch our new activity this summer.
